Our Hosts

KENNETH COLE

Kenneth Cole is an American designer, social activist, and visionary who believes business and philanthropy are interdependent. Kenneth has personally been to Haiti three times since the earthquake of 2010 and has made enormous impact by providing healthcare to thousands at the Kenneth Cole Haiti Health Center, a program that operates in partnership with the St. Luke Foundation for Haiti. This marks the third year that Kenneth is hosting the foundation’s premier event in the United States. For more information on Cole’s commitment to our people and programs, visit forgood.kennethcole.com.

ADRIANA LIMA

Adriana Lima is one of fashion’s most notable faces. Soon after winning a 1996 modeling contest in her native Brazil, Adriana moved to New York City to pursue a modeling career. Although Adriana is most widely associated with Victoria’s Secret, she has also headlined campaigns for Armani Jeans, Balmain, Blumarine, Guess, Givenchy and Maybelline. Fluent in English, French and her native language of Portuguese, Adriana has traveled the world extensively and been introduced to a variety of cultures. She has visited the St. Luke programs in Haiti twice, spending time at our hospitals and schools. Adriana uses her platform to spread the word about the work of St. Luke and has pledged to raise $1 million dollars for the capital campaign funding the new St. Luke's Hospital. Adriana has co-hosted the St. Luke winter event with Kenneth Cole for the two years. Despite her major career success, Adriana’s most fulfilling role to date is as the mother of two daughters, Valentina and Sienna. To see Adriana’s latest work, visit www.adrianalima.com.

JOZY ALTIDORE

From beloved son and international soccer standout to loving brother and respected global philanthropist, Jozy Altidore wears many important hats on and off the field of play. Altidore, the youngest of four children of Haitian immigrants, has blossomed into one of the world's top strikers playing for the United States Men's National Team and Toronto FC of Major League Soccer. Altidore is currently the fifth-highest scorer in U.S. Soccer history and has led the red, white and blue to the past two World Cup competitions. He has taken part in several charitable fundraisers and organized multiple projects through the Jozy Altidore Foundation, including the funding and construction of a well for a community of more than 400 people in Haiti in need of clean water. Altidore is eager to visit St. Luke's Hospital soon and become more involved with the foundation's work. For more information on Altidore’s life and work, visit www.jozyaltidore.com.

HURRICANE MATTHEW RESPONSE

Helping communities rebuild, one family at a time

The St. Luke Foundation is a Haitian-led organization employing over 1,000 staff in Haiti through programs that provide healthcare, education, food production, job creation, clean water, housing, and more.

In response to Hurricane Matthew, The St. Luke Foundation for Haiti, with our partner Nos Petits Freres et Soeurs Haiti, has leveraged deep community relationships to provide life-saving support to the areas most severely affected by the hurricane.

The focus of this event will be the community of St. Louis du Sud, a small city on the southern coast of Haiti, just east of Les Cayes.  In addition to providing initial support in the form of clean water, food, housing, and re-planting of essential crops, the St. Luke team is working to support toward longer-term development in St. Louis du Sud in the following ways:

  • St. Paul Primary School provides K-6 education to over 400 students in the area. The St. Luke school system began with simple street schools and has developed into a system serving over 12,500 students. Our current focus is on strengthening access to education in areas outside of Port-au-Prince where community development and access to education are vital.
  • St. Louis du Sud Women's Health Clinic had just finished construction when the hurricane hit Haiti. It is now repaired and is ready to provide primary care and women's health services to the community. It also serves as a hub for relief and outreach efforts further west in the communities of Jeremie, Abricots, and Dame Marie.
  • The St. Louis du Sud community-building initiative also includes a bakery and restaurant aimed at providing jobs and nutrition.
  • In addition to these longer-term initiatives, we are helping St. Louis du Sud and other hurricane affected communities with projects centered around housing, clean water, and recovery of agriculture.
